The route for the 5k shows it starts and finishes at the red flag which would start at the rec and finsh by the Old Main bell. However, the dotted lines show start and finish at the rec. Can you clear this up? Thank you!
Hi, Tiffany — if you hover over the red flag, is has a label showing the 5K starts at the Rec. There is a double lap around the Old Main Bell which is also where the race ends. If you have any oher questions, please let us know!
Will there be showers available at the rec for runners to use after the race? Thanks.
I’m afraid we are not able to offer showers for the runners of the 5K.
From my understanding, we can still get shirts after the 26th but aren’t guaranteed a size, correct? Thanks!
Tiffany, That is correct. We cannot guarantee a size if runners register after the 26th. Thanks!
Are strollers allowed in the race?
I’m sorry, Erika — strollers are not allowed for the 5K race.
Are results from previous Homecoming 5k runs available on website?
Thanks
I’m sorry, Bill — we are unable to provide that online.
Please find the links I provided at the bottom of the page – Cheers
Ryan Case – ISU Alum, MBA 2010
Do we run two laps through the designated route on the map?
Yes! If you have more questions about the 5K — please call Stuart Palmer at 309-438-2586 and he will be able to help you!
When is packet pick up? I’ve been looking to no avail.
Found it…Packet pick is Friday 8am – 7pm at the Alumni Center on Main St.
Can you pick up your bag of swag and tshirt of race day like last year? Where will that be on race day?
Anyone who does not pick up their items on Friday during early pick-up will be able to near the registration area outside of Rec. Saturday morning, so yes. Also as an FYI we will now, again, also be a giving an early pick-uppers their bib and chip as the chip timer this year is going to be a sticker that goes on the back of their bibs. Thanks!
Can you please tell me how late race-day registration is open? (i.e. what’s the latest time I can register by?) I’m arriving from out of town saturday morning. thanks!
Kurt, staff will be on site by 5 a.m. that day ready to accept last minute registrations. We’ll do our best to accommodate all late registrants, but the race will begin at 7 a.m. sharp.
What are the different divisions?

Annette, I think that last comment is from the winner of last year’s homecoming 5K, Ryan Case.
I have been training and I have him in my sights for this year.
Lookout Ryan! Team Beam will be hot on your heels!
Team Beam was in full force this morning – Nice job on the race!
The Town and Gown 5K was great! Thank you!
